MacKellar Golf has been working with the land ownership consortium in South
America to provide a master-plan design for a land parcel of more than 1000 Acres.
The eco-friendly development will feature more than 800 single family homes, 350 condominiums, an 18-Hole Championship length golf course, driving range, indoor teaching facilities, medical education center, 220+ key hotel, casino, marina and theme park - and is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2020.
A key principal of the golf course design is to respect and acknowledge the local and regional history, and integrate a meaningful "theme" into design elements. Each of the 18 holes will provide a story relating to the historic land uses, original occupants and the culture of the region.
"We are excited to be able to provide a thoughtful and considerate golf course layout that responds to native culture and utilize existing land formations to create unique challenges for players of all skill levels", Cameron MacKellar said recently in a statement to local citizens and authorities.
